I use them extensively for weathering rolling stock and structures to produce realistic rust and dirt effects. Try mixing the powder with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol to make a paste and one of the darker rust colors to make rotting rust spots on vehicles and metal roofs, or use Ash Gray to create leftover material in bottoms of gondola's or hoppers. Apply a shot of matte varnish to seal the powders once the paste dries, and you're in business. – David Popp
