Hood open? Hood closed?
This solution lets you display it in the open position, and close it as well, without a great deal of effort.
Measure the distance between where the hinges mount on the inner fender. Cut a piece of .020" brass wire to that length, plus a tiny bit more. Drill .020" holes in the base of the hinges where they would glue to the fender, and glue the wire in those holes, making sure the hinges are in mirrored positions. When this is dry, pop it into the fenders. The tension of the wire will hold the hinges in place.
Cut two more pieces of the same brass wire, and bend them in a J shape. Cut them to fit on the top edges of the hinges, and glue them with the short leg up. The hood will fit into the Js and hold the hood up. Remove the hood and hinges, and the hood can be placed in the closed position. - Rich Wilson
