This Sunday! Cranleigh Lions Classic Car Show

Hello Vasiliikoslof

Only a few days to go before our 17th Classic Car Show on Sunday 12th. Our car show is now old
enough to drive!

To celebrate this milestone we have two new features.

The Pride of Ownership competition has three categories of vehicles and you can vote for your
favourite in each category. We have some amazing vehicles lined up, so choosing might not be so
easy. Once you have decided, voting is simple using the form in the Show Guide, which we are
giving away FREE this year. You'll get a chance to see the vehicles in the arena at 10:40am
and prize giving (we have trophies!) is at 3:50pm. The vehicles will be parked up close to
the food village and jazz band, so you'll have a chance to combine voting with a bit of food.

At 2:30pm we have The Italian Job Mini Gymkhana, where five Minis take part in some tricky
time trials. It's not the fastest that wins so come along and cheer on your favourite team.

The arena is being hosting by our good friend, TV presenter Mark Evans. He'll be talking
about his beloved Land Rover's 70th birthday at 11:10am and bantering with the tractor
owner's at 12:20.

Our show isn't all about classic cars, we have attractions for the kids, craft and antique
stalls, food, drink and our house band, The Groove. It really is a great day out for all the
family.

The show opens at 9:30am, entrance is £8 for adults, under 16s are free. Parking on the
showground is free and there is plenty of it. Dogs on leads are welcome in the showground.

There are two important pieces of information about Sunday's show.

Firstly, we have been advised by Cranleigh Fire Service NOT to have any barbecues on Sunday
due to the dry condition of the showground and surrounding area. This includes the public
car park and the field the show takes place in.

Secondly, Barhatch Road, close to the Cranleigh Showground, is currently closed for gas works,
which means if you are travelling from the Guildford direction you must drive through the
middle of Cranleigh and not via Smithwood Common Road, nor Horseshoe Lane/Amlets Lane.

We're looking forward to a superb show on Sunday and we hope you will join us.
