Firstly, we're very pleased to say the gentleman who was taken ill at the Classic Car Show is improving and I'm sure you will join us in wishing him a speedy recovery.
Undoubtedly without the swift response of the Cranleigh Fire Service and St John Ambulance the outcome would have been different. It wasn't the demonstration we planned, nevertheless it showed how professional and calm the emergency services are in dealing with a life threatening incident such as this.
You may have heard Mike Brewer talking about how the south-east Lions Clubs, including Cranleigh, have been supporting night flying for the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance and you can read about this initiative on our Eggstravaganza page (http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=65OLl&m=JNWEdHOxKknor5&b=zAYsz5nMo4qwgcA2Jm5WGg).
Secondly, we had a very successful day with just over £25,000 profit. Some of the money raised will go directly to the six nominated charities and the remainder will be used throughout the next 12 months to support individuals, families and charitable organisations that need our help.
If you had anything to do with the day, in any shape or form, a big thank you from the Cranleigh Lions and the people we help. We really couldn't do it without you.
A special mention must go to Mike Brewer, his family and team, who not only find time in their busy schedule to spend the whole day with us, they don't charge a bean for their time. As a gesture of thanks, Cranleigh Lions Club has made a donation to their favourite Oxford based charity SeeSaw. We're in Mike's busy diary and we hope he can make it back in 2017.
Talking of 2017, the date for next year's Classic Car Show is Sunday 13th August 2017, we hope you can join us.
We will be releasing show details in the first part of 2017 and registration will be available shortly after Easter.
