Classic Car Show News from the Cranleigh Lions Fantastic Auction Prize Regular visitors to our classic car show may remember the popular auction we had a few years ago for Top Gear tickets. For obvious reasons we're not able to repeat that particular auction, nevertheless we have a corker for this year. Wings & Wheels, which takes place at Dunsfold Park on the weekend of 29th and 30th August, includes high speed runs along the runway of a variety of different sorts of vehicle. We are auctioning four opportunities to sit in the passenger seat of a DAM 4100 Group B rally car, the evolution of the mightly Austin Rover Metro 6R4 one of the top rally cars in the 1980's. The winners will also receive a family ticket to Wings & Wheels, which is worth £60. The original 6R4 had 410bhp and a 0-60 time of 3 seconds. The DAM 4100 is lighter and faster. The winners of this auction are going to be in for the ride of their life! Auction bids can only be accepted on the 16th August and at the Lions tent, which will be clearly marked and flying a red and green chequered flag. More details about the auction can be found here and our Show Guide, costing just £3 contains an interesting article about Group B rallying and its tragic demise. This unique opportunity has been donated by a car collector who wishes to remain anonymous. Naturally we are very grateful and it means that every penny raised can be used to help individuals, families and charitable organisations that need a bit of support from the Cranleigh Lions.
