Jim Glickenhaus' Ferrari P4/5 Competizione will remain "one of one"

Jim Glickenhaus' Ferrari P4/5 Competizione will remain "one of one"A story hit the wires yesterday that Jim Glickenhaus is considering a production run of his P4/5 Competizione if Nürburgring 24 organizers deny the team's bid to use active aerodynamics. Put your checkbook away, kids, Glick told us exclusively it just ain't true.

Here's what Mr. Glickenhaus told us about the team's plans for the lightweight, F430 Scuderia-based racecar:

P 4/5 Competizione will race the 24 Hours of Nüburgring and then be displayed at The National Auto Museum of Italy in Torino as she finishes, covered in oil, rubber and dirt.

We will then decide what we'll do next year.

If we continue racing we will develop an active aero DRS (Drag Reduction System) for her and further develop her Ferrari engine.

When her racing days are over she will be put into street legal configuration and come home to visit and play with her sisters.

She will remain a one of one despite several VERY crazy offers to build a few more.

As a final aside Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina has not been sold to the Mideast. The offer was rejected and she is not for sale.

There you have it. Don't forget to get your plane tickets and pack your gepäck to watch the P4/5 Competizione run in the E1XP2 (experimental) class of the ADAC 24 Hours Nürburgring on June 23-26, 2011.
